Hello all of you. :) This blog post is going to pertain to the word siren. The context in which we use siren is the term matching the definition, "A device that makes a loud prolonged sound as a signal or warning." ( Oxford Dictionary Definition) We use this definition because of our president and cofounder's nickname Siren. She gained this nickname due to her loud ideas and opinions. However there are other meaings to the word siren and more behind the word that I would lke to discuss. Siren originated in the 1300-50's in many countries. Middle English used the term sereyn. A similar term with the same meaning was then used in Old French, sereine. In Latin it was called sīrēn and in Greek it was seirḗn.
